Decorate cakes, cupcakes and biscuits with this delicious coloured fondant from FunCakes. The fondant, besides being perfectly spreadable, can be used as a filling or to make decorations, it has the consistency of normal fondant.
FunCakes fondant is perfect for colouring with food colouring. Let the fondant rest for one hour after colouring (covered) for best results. Knead the fondant again before processing.
Thanks to the satin finish, FunCakes fondant is perfect for covering a cake with sharp edges. If you want to cut out shapes, you will get crisp and clean cut-outs.
For 250 g of fondant add a full teaspoon of CMC and/or water, if necessary. Knead well before use and spread on a thin layer of icing sugar.
To cover a round cake with a diameter of 24/26 cm you need approx. 600 g of fondant. If you want to make decorations like a bow, then add a little CMC and/or water.
It is recommended to follow these steps for best results:
- Let the fondant come to room temperature.
- Knead firmly until smooth and elastic.
- Coat the work surface with a little icing sugar and roll out the fondant with a rolling pin to a uniform shape (2-3 mm thick). Turn the fondant about a quarter of the way round to prevent it from sticking. Did you get a cracked edge? Knead it well again until the edges are perfect when you roll it out. Then the fondant will be perfect to use.
